How to connect with the soul of your business

Did you know that your business has its own soul?

It has its own purpose.

It has its own reason for being and existing.

Why is this important?

Because your business is ALIVE! It’s a living breathing beautiful creation. And because of that, you must treat it that way.

Our businesses are not here to just make us money to pay bills.

Believe it or not, they have their own feelings, wants and desires.

When you find out what they are and combine it with your own personal goals you can truly step into aligned business ownership and conscious creation.

A powerful practice you can put into place is connecting with and talking to the soul of your business.

Here’s how you can do that:

Think of your business as a baby.

Tune in and see what response you get.

Sometimes the answer will come in the form of a vision, a knowing, a feeling, or you may even hear the answer to your question.

  1. Close your eyes. Take a nice deep breath. Place your hands on your heart.

  2. Thank God, the universe, whatever it is that you believe in for gifting you this opportunity today.

  3. Now imagine your business as a baby. What stage of development is your “baby” in?  Gestation, newborn, toddler, child, teenager. Remember that this has NOTHING to do with how long your business has actually been established. This is honoring the energy and the needs of the business which is why it’s easy and important to see it as a child.

  4. Imagine you are holding your business close to you - nurturing it, loving it, paying attention to it.

  5. Lovingly gaze into its eyes. Giving full eye contact and attention as you caress the baby’s skin.

  6. Take a breath and hold the baby even closer to you.

  7. Now look at the baby and ask “what do you need?”

(Maybe the baby needs a diaper change, a burp, new clothes, a hug, or playtime! Open your mind and open your heart. Trust that whatever you get is correct and PERFECT. Do not go into judgment over this.)

  8. Once you know what the baby needs - do just that. For my own business, I had to change its diaper. LOL!

  9. If you feel guided to go deeper into the why’s of whatever answer you got - GO FOR IT!
    Do not force this step.

  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 as necessary. Just like a real baby there may be several needs that need to be met. (After changing my “baby’s” diaper I had to lie the baby down for a nap.)

  11. Once you’ve met all the needs, for now, ask if there are any necessary action steps. (Some ideas are: rest, take a vacation, sleep, hire an accountant, create a new offer, or it could even be closing the business in some cases!)

  12. Before you disconnect - send love and gratitude to the business and anything else connected to it. I know my business gratitude practice I will also send love to everyone who helps me run it, the clients who keep it going, myself, God/Spirit/Source/The Universe, my husband, anyone/anything that inspires me, etc. Remember that this show does not run by itself.

  13. Take a breath and call your energy back to you. See the energy of the business full, bright, and whole.

Let me know in comments what your business had to say to you!
